MOPS_ DanceSyndrome / Ela Franscella
MuseOM#
Site-specific roaming ensemble performance. Created following a residency at the MAH – Musée d’Art et d’Histoire. New work
The dancers of MOPS_DanceSyndrome undertake a five-day residency at the MAH, engaging in a process of research and composition led by choreographer Ela Franscella, before presenting the outcome of their work to the public. Created in dialogue with the exhibition Observatoires – Carte blanche to John M Armleder and the museum’s permanent collection, this new work unfolds as a choreographed journey that, like a ritual both ancient and contemporary, reveals the encounter and dialogue between the visual arts and dance.
MuseOM# is a performance that moves beyond technical virtuosity towards a spiritual dimension. Bodies in motion trace a spiral of new and singular expressions of movement and musical culture. The result is a choreosophy—a choreographic meditation—accompanied by an original live composition and soundscape performed by Michel Thouzeau.
