Dream Coat extends Nefeli Papadimouli’s ongoing research into ephemeral communities and spaces of encounter. Drawing equally on architectural and artistic avant-gardes, contemporary dance and Greek mythology, the project takes the form of a series of suspended costume-sculptures representing the solar cycle, accompanied by an original sound composition.
Developed through a series of dreamstorming sessions bringing together amateur and professional participants, the performance draws on dream narratives conceived as forms of individual and collective memory that pass through us. Oscillating between installation and collective activation, Dream Coat imagines dreaming as a shared space in which bodies, stories and worldviews converge.
