Biography
With a background in architecture and visual arts, Nefeli Papadimouli has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning sculpture, installation, performance, photography, drawing and participatory projects. Informed by phenomenology, feminism and contemporary political theory, her work explores the relationships between the body, space and forms of collective gathering. Her modular, interconnected and elastic sculptures operate both as invitations to movement and as temporary architectures that foster encounters.
A graduate of the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, she has received several major awards, including the Prix Dauphine pour l’art contemporain (2019), the Prix Matsutani (2022) and the Académie des Beaux-Arts Pierre Cardin Sculpture Prize (2023). In 2026, her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Le Grand Café in Saint-Nazaire and M Leuven, following previous solo exhibitions at Crédac in Ivry-sur-Seine (2023) and Ter Posterie in Roeselare, Belgium (2022). She has also participated in the Lyon Biennale (2024), the Asian Art Biennial in Taichung, Taiwan (2024), and exhibitions at the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès in Tokyo (2025), New Museum × Deste Foundation at the Benaki Museum in Athens (2025), the Louvre-Lens (2025), FRAC Picardie in Amiens (2022), Playground Festival in Leuven (2021), and FRAC Grand Large – Hauts-de-France in Dunkirk (2021).
