J’hésite entre Croquis et arabesque et La métamorphose

Marie-Caroline Hominal’s artistic practice involves dance, video, sculpture, drawing, text, and radio. Close to the field of performance art, she has presented her work in theatres, museums, and art galleries, as well as in unconventional venues such as hotel rooms, theatre dressing rooms, semi-trailer lorries, and building sites.

The performance J’hésite entre Croquis et arabesque et La métamorphose begins with a prelude and develops with the soundof numbers being counted, recorded, and mixed in a loop by the artist, who provides the sound material to which she responds with movement sequences that recall certain fashion show codes while at the same time appropriating them. Body and voice overlap and transform, until the body is adorned with a multitude of drawings.
