Biography
Described as a “Maestro of the swarm” (Nature) or simply “pathetic” (Vimeo), Meier Wiratunga’s work has been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo and Centre Pompidou in Paris, as well as at the Venice, Shanghai, Diriyah, and Colomboscope Sri Lanka biennales. As a musician and sound designer, he has collaborated with Björk, Holly Herndon and Pierre Huyghe, among others. He has worked with IRCAM in Paris since 2006 and teaches Sound Arts at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). He is a fellow of the Istituto Svizzero in Rome and a resident of the Arts at CERN programme. He will present further aspects of this research in the exhibition The Mind Body Problem at SEU – Salle d’exposition de l’UNIGE, from 27 October to 23 December 2025.
