Biography
Julie Semoroz collaborates with artists and scientists on both individual and collective projects. While primarily focused on sound, her work also expands into the visual arts and dance, and is presented in concert halls, art spaces, theatres, and public venues. She has received numerous research grants, was nominated for the Russolo Prize and the Swiss Art Awards, and was supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation for her 2021 project DOUZE MILLE VINGT, developed in collaboration with Didier Grandjean and the CISA (Swiss Centre for Affective Sciences, University of Geneva). Since 2013, she has performed solo and with other artists in Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Egypt, Russia, China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, and Uruguay, in renowned venues such as PSA Shanghai, Click Festival in Helsingør, and Fundación Teatro a Mil in Santiago de Chile.
