Biography
Tyra Wigg works in the fields of choreography and performance. They lived in Stockholm before moving to Basel in 2020. They graduated from HKB Berne in 2023 with an MA in Extended Theatre. Their work has been presented at Schinkel Pavillon Berlin, Kunsthalle Basel, Kunsthaus Baselland, Kaserne Basel, ROXY Birsfelden, Les Urbaines Lausanne, Weld Stockholm, Shedhalle Zurich, BONE Berne, Joint Adventures Munich, YUP Osnabrück, SITE Sweden, Amore Basel. They have worked as a performer with Gisèle Vienne, Heiner Goebbels, Shu Lea Cheang, Ernestyna Orlowska, Marina Abramović, Inga Gerner Nielsen, Alexandra Pirici, and Marie Jäger, among others. They are “LAB-artist” in residence at Kaserne Basel in 2023-2024.
In 2024, they will present their work Squeeze at far° festival Nyon and at MDT Stockholm.
