Biography
DD Dorvillier graduated in dance from Bennington College in Vermont (USA). She began developing her work in New York in 1989, before moving to France in 2010. With her company human future dance corps, she has presented her work at The Kitchen Dance Theater Workshop, Danspace Project, PS 122 in New York; Kaaitheater Brussels; ImPulsTanz Vienna; DeSingel Antwerp; STUK Louvain; Hau/Hebel am Ufer Berlin; CDCN Atelier de Paris/Carolyne Carlson Paris; Rencontres chorégraphiques de Seine Saint-Denis; Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt; Fondation Serralves Porto; Performatik Brussels; Zagreb Dance Weeks; Centre Pompidou Paris; TSEH Festival Moscow. In 2020, with composer Sébastien Roux, she inaugurated La Corvette, a multi-disciplinary research and creation space in Côte d’Or, Burgundy.
Since 2021, she has been working with a number of collaborators on Untitled Landscapes, an evolving project linking La Corvette and the abandoned medieval village of Dracy, an archaeological site overlooking her village. From this project came Les yeux du menuisier (2022), Landscape Stories (2023-2024), and Dance is the archeologist, or an idol in the bone (2024).
