Editorial

KorSonoR was born of the convergence between the transdisciplinary artistic explorations developed by Arta Sperto since 2020 and the organisation’s affinity with Geneva’s musical and artistic scene, in a spirit of complementarity with existing events. KorSonoR explores the resonances between sound and visual arts through exhibitions, installations, in situ works, performances, concerts, videos and cross-disciplinary collaborations. KorSonoR aims to perceive, experiment with and understand how sound is inherent to the human body and to life, whether we approach it from a sensitive, social, spatial, architectural, urban or environmental perspective.

KorSonoR brings together 14 artists or groups (involving 28 artists) from 9 countries and several generations. Eight works are co-produced by Arta Sperto, and 5 are specially adapted for the venues and places that will host them. The exhibition takes place at Le Commun as well as in and with the help of other venues and partners, such as Cave12, Comédie de Genève, Contrechamps, Flux Laboratory, Grand Théâtre, Les 6 Toits, the Museum of Art and History and in the public space.

A two-day symposium on sound art in Switzerland, gathering together some 20 organisations that are active in this field all over Switzerland, is held in the conference room of the Bâtiment d’art contemporain (BAC).
