ARTA SPERTO

Arta Sperto is a curation, production, organization and publishing structure for artistic multi- and transdisciplinary projects, founded and directed by Olivier Kaeser. Without a fixed location, it imagines its projects in collaboration with cultural partners, or in public spaces, both urban and natural.

In 2020, Arta Sperto organized and produced the exhibition-festival Dance First Think Later – An Encounter between Dance and Visual Arts. A publication containing a rich iconography and 25 texts, in French and English, is in preparation. Entitled Dance First Think Later – The Thinking Body between Dance and Visual Arts, it is designed as an editorial for the exhibition, with a historical, critical and theoretical perspective. It should be published by the end of 2022, and will be distributed by Les presses du réel.

In 2021, Arta Sperto initiated another project cycle: “One Context, One Work”, which consists in offering to an artist to design a work from a context that he / she chooses, and in which the work can be presented to the public. The first invited artist, Anne Rochat, responded by choosing to be immersed in a body of water. In September and early October 2021, Anne Rochat and Jean Rochat’s subaquatic performance SpO2 has been presented in the waters of Lake Geneva and in a river in Ticino.

In 2022, the second edition of Dance First Think Later was presented at Le Commun, the Pavillon ADC and the Cinémas du Grütli in Geneva, from September 15 to October 9, 2022.

In 2023, Arta Sperto initiates KorSonoR, another exhibition/festival dedicated to sound and visual arts.
